# Get User

Returns a single active user by their `id` (from the users list), with the same shape as a list entry.

Invited users have no id (`id` is `null` on `status: invited` list entries — an id is created when they sign up), so they cannot be fetched here; a **404** means the id does not belong to an active user in your workspace.


Returns a single active user by their `id` (from [List Users](/reference/list-users)), in the same shape as a list entry — profile fields plus a summary of their connected mailboxes.

Invited users cannot be fetched here: they have `id: null` on the list (an id is created when they sign up), so a **404** always means "no *active* user with this id in your workspace".
